Flowers, forsooth! The best dudes say it with gifts of billions of dollars, and also with the evidence that proves your father innocent which you fought for ten years to get and thought was blown up on a plane.

Except a) she does thank him and b) he doesn’t want thanks, he just wants to help her and for her to be happy.

Basically, doing crazily epic things for love (whether romantic, platonic or familial) is my bag.

EMILY/AMANDA: So my plan is to tell the fellow of my heart that I have been masquerading under a fake name, and projecting to him throughout our acquaintance a false identity. That I let a murderer assume my real identity and gave her all available tools to lie to him. That I have schemed to ruin lives, topple companies, blow up houses, seduced and betrothed myself to a dude I did not care for, and beaten up dudes with fists and one time an axe. I mean… that’s a good plan, right? What would you do if you were in his place?

NOLAN: Girl I would think you were so amazing I would want to MARRY YOU.

It’s a fool-proof plan! There’s no way it can fail! Nolan is one hundred per cent sure this will be an irresistible offer!

The Revenge season finale made me VERY HAPPY!

Dear Miss Manners, 

Though revenge is my primary focus, sometimes I confess I feel an urge to indulge in the softer emotions. I have recently broken off my betrothal to a fellow who was unsuitable due to a) our whole relationship being based on revengey deceit b) he grew unnecessary to my schemes and c) he was evil and I found myself tired of his face. Unfortunately, my other romantic interest has just knocked up another lady and did not even have the presence of mind to text me about it before I walked in on a most embarrassing situation. All I have left is, of course, Revenge! and the tall handsome billionaire who supports and adores me in every conceivable way. Should I give up on love?

Watching the pilot is fun, because you see Nolan first wearing his red jacket and go ‘Huh’ and then the next time you see him he’s wearing pink trousers with anchors on them and you’re like ‘Guy, what is going ON with you?’ and then you see the double-popped collars and the Blackmailing & Kissing Dudes Bow Tie.

Nolan’s fashion sense, clearly as carefully plotted as Emanda’s revenge schemes, and occasionally (the anchor pants) just as deranged. But making a point, nonetheless!

Clever visual stuff is the one thing TV and movies have on books. ;)
