danfiki:

Sarah Rees Brennan and Maureen Johnson are complete babes. Went to their talk in London today and I cried laughing through most of it. Some of their stories were just brilliant and the whole thing was fabulous.
The signing afterwards brought more amusement (Sarah’s dancing on a chair was quite spectacular). Once Katie and I got to the front, Maureen told me (both to my face and written in my book) that she loved my Catvengers shirt and that she needs it, which definitely made my day and made me feel better that I decided to wear it rather than let my fat get the better of me.
After a lovely chat with them for a few minutes (involving the two of them saying that if you’re writing and want to kill someone, just do it) we ended with Maureen telling us to not kill any cats in our writing and Sarah just saying to go for it, kill the cat.
I just, these two ladies are completely fabulous and I adore both their books and their personalities. I aspire to be just like them and I’ve found myself going back to the drawing board on the novel I want to write and just wanting to go for it. Thank you ladies, for being your fabulous selves.

We had an amazing time at @StokeyLitFest and an amazing audience, including this lovely lady who did look great in her Catvengers shirt.
It should surprise nobody that I advocate for murder and suffering. Endless suffering.
Unless you come to a book event, which we will try to make JOYOUS. It was my first one on one event with Maureen, and I was much pleased because a friend of hers was like ‘Wow, you two must do this a lot.’
'… Oh God,' she said, after a horrified pause. 'This is just how you two talk to each other, isn't it?'
