I just found out that THE DIVINERS debuted at #1 on the Indiebound Bestseller List. This news is fantastically exciting and full of “wow” and “oh my” and general flailing of arms. But then someone forwarded the list to me. There on the list was this book I wrote along with CHARLOTTE’S WEB, my favorite children’s book of all time. CHARLOTTE’S WEB was the book that showed me what it is to fall in love with reading, to feel so invested in the lives of the characters that you will forgo lunch and TV and jumping rope because you just have to see what’s going to happen to your friends. How wonderful that sixty years later, it’s still on a bestseller list, as it should be.
And I’m a big old sap because I got pretty teary seeing them there together on the same list.
Aw congratulations Libba! For this and OTHER LISTIES, sugar momma.
Behold Libba presciently at No. 1 on the Indie Next List, before the Diviners was even out! (Also Unspoken is there too. Fancy! And LOTS of other books with bookseller descriptions. <3 indies.) http://news.bookweb.org/news/autumn-2012-kids%E2%80%99-indie-next-list-preview
